While not able to actually read, they scan thousands of words in a second,
mix them up, and store them in their Word Humps.

About the Camels
Word Camels are the rarest known species of the ungulate family. So rare that they are
largely unknown. They are an unknown, rarely known species of camel. Awareness
about this particular type of camel is a difficult thing to get clear on.
Deep in the night they prowl the darkest corridors of the dustiest libraries, scanning all
the words to absorb into their humps. They have word humps. These camels have
word humps that are poorly organized.
The invention of the printing press was set back several thousand years by early efforts
to recruit the Word Camels. The results were catastrophic with widespread confusion.
Eventually the Word Camels retreated to the sanctuary of musty bookshelves where deep in the night
they would jumble the words in their humps in the unstructured manner they preferred.
In recent times, the magic of camel-friendly digital interfaces has conspired with the world's insatiable
demand for anagrams. The Word Camels have emerged once more. Dedicated data centers provide them with a steady
steam of text to absorb, along with the heat and destruction of any nearby water supplies they seem to like.
It's a win-win situation for everyone.
